Was the most popular question we received in the past few weeks. Here it is!

25 / 07

We head to the island and check in to the hotel.
The happy couple + the bride’s family will take the 14.10 ferry from Harlingen.

Optional: Dinner at a beach pavilion for some real Dutch “Kibbeling”.

26 / 07 | 14.45

Gather at the Oude Raadhuis for the 15.00 ceremony.

Dress code: It’s not all that formal, we suggest smart casual. Jeans and blazer, nice dress, or a basic suit will all do great!

18.00
We sit down at Restaurant Zuiver.
Here we will be treated to a surprise 5-course dinner with optional wine arrangement.

The dinner is, of course, on Richard. Please do keep his much-needed home reno in mind when ordering drinks, though.

After dinner
No plans! We will see what the future brings us.

How to get there

After getting off the ferry it’s a 25 minute walk, or a 10 minute bus ride. The bus is a regular scheduled one and takes about 10 minutes.

Luggage can be transported for you between Harlingen and the hotel. On the way back: if you take a ferry before 12.00, luggage needs to be on the cart (near the pool) by 09.30. For later ferries, by 14.30.

Free bus rides are included with the hotel, just use the booking confirmation or guest card (after check-in).

Just in case you are early, staying longer, or just have some downtime in between, there are plenty of things to do on Vlieland!

Lighthouse
The lighthouse is a classic, as it is on all the islands. You can also go inside and climb it for a view over the island.

Museum
If you’d like to know more about the history of Vlieland, the oldest house is also a museum. It’s called Tromp’s Huys and can be found in the main village.

CHEESE
Vlieland also has a “cheese bunker” as local delicacy. They do guided tours and have a shop!

Was the second most popular question these past few weeks.

Here’s the thing: we aren’t really expecting anything. You are all already spending so much to make it to Vlieland and back, got us the holiday house in Vlieland, not to mention everything you’ve given us in time together thus far.

However, if you’d really like to get us something, here’s a few ideas!

Home stuff

There’s plenty of things we want and need for the house and yard, running from a couple tenners to a couple thousands. Sadly, more and more things end up in the latter category. Nonetheless, equally appreciated!

Bookend(s) from Zuny

You know, the fun animal ones. Prevent our books from falling over while providing us with more pets, minus the hair.

A rollable garden hose

Any will do, we don’t know enough about this stuff other than “it’s expensive”. We haven’t really needed it this year with all the rain, but who knows what will happen the next.

This porcelain china set from Westwing

So we have more than 2 sets of 4 plates. Might as well get some pretty ones, no?

A floating parasol

We could not afford an A/C yet, but a parasol may prevent the need by giving some shade. A nice floating parasol would look good to boot, like this Borghuis one!

White wine glasses to match ours reds

For all the wine that will once again be poured after the 26th of July.

Dyson v15 Detect

Our vacuum cleaner gave out, probably couldn’t handle all the pet hair (to be fair, neither can weโ€ฆ). Dyson says the v15 detect can, the pets see it as a challenge.

A garden lounge set

Right now we have a small balcony set, and a rotten (literally falling apart) table that the previous owner left. With a garden comes an upgrade! We quite like the idea of a round one, like this.

New coffee table

We’ve been looking into a new coffee table, and would like it round & wood. This one is at the top of our list (probably set 60 + 90)

Pet stuff

Our pets need some new stuff, too! Especially the kitties. They feel a little neglected lately.

A nice wooden scratching pole / cat tree for the kits. For example CatzNWood.

Some GOOD brushes for the pets, finally. Like Jean Peau, apparently.

Home Reno

While we can imagine home renovations aren’t necessarily a “nice” gift to give, we do need a LOT of it. Of course, any funding towards the following projects is incredibly appreciated:

We really need (read: want) four new doors for upstairs.

We want (read: need) a new CV-unit. They come a bit pricy, but the one we have is from 2009.

All of our appliances will slowly need some upgrading, such as the dishwasher, oven and washing machine.

Thank you so much for coming!

We are not planning on having a photographer. However, we have all of you, and I’m sure you’ll take some pictures! Please do add your pictures to this album.
